Changes in Neural Variability During Development and in Psychopathology
Thu, Jul 16
|Virtual Event
This presentation covers the following points: 1. Introduce a new neural variability metric, state engagement variability (SEV); 2. Study SEV’s trajectory and behavioral relevance during development; 3. Apply a normative modeling approach to study the link between SEV deviations & clinical symptoms.

Speaker: Jean Ye (PhD candidate at Yale University)
Jean is a Neuroscience graduate student at Yale University working with Drs. Dustin Scheinost and Elizabeth Goldfarb. Her research examines how moment-to-moment brain responses support flexible behaviors. Specifically, she is interested in exploring how this process becomes disrupted in psychopathology, and how brain dynamics support behavioral flexibility during development, a period characterized by rapid changes and increased demands.
